Market Days is located at the Good Hart General Store on M-119 and is a free event open to all area farmers, artists and artisans. Market Days is an excellent opportunity for area producers and artists to sell goods. For additional information on participating or for details on the event, please visit www.goodhartstore.com.
Char-Em United Way is hosting the 3rd Annual Stuff the Bus to collect school supplies for students in Charlevoix and Emmet counties. The week before the event we will have drop boxes at local businesses and then on Saturday, August 14th we will have a school bus at K-marts in Petoskey and Charlevoix. Volunteers will be onsite to encourage shoppers to donate.
All those who make a contribution will have the opportunity to win free tickets to Avalanche Bay Indoor Water Park.

Come Support ‘The Walk and Run’ Moving Forward Until There’s a Cure With Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan

Lace up your tennis shoes, bring a friend, and come support Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan on Saturday, August 14, 2010, as supporters walk and run along a scenic three-mile route for a cure. Registration will start at 8 a.m. and “The Walk & Run” will begin at 10 a.m.
“The Walk & Run” will take place through Petoskey’s historic Bay View Resort Community. Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan is currently servicing over 200 patients in Northern Michigan. All money raised at “The Walk & Run” will stay in Northern Michigan. The event will include food, refreshments and entertainment. Those who plan to take part in “The Walk & Run” may also register online at www.leukemiamichigan.org.
There is $20 pre-registration fee to participate in “The Walk & Run” and $25 registration fee for those who register the day of the event. Each participant who raises $100 will receive a 2010 “The Walk” T-shirt. The registration fee will go towards the $100 required to receive “The Walk” T-shirt.
To make the event even more exciting, supporters can recruit and name their teams. They can then register their teams online at www.leukemiamichigan.org, where they may set up a personalized fundraising page to share their stories. Family members and friends of the teams may donate via credit card on the website through the participant’s page.

A variety of children's activities will be held in conjunction with this weekend event. No additional admission charge for this special event above standard Colonial Michilimackinac admission rates.
