    About Us

We are a non-denominational, Bible believing church that has a rich history in Harbor Springs, dating back to our little white chapel beginning construction in 1913. Over 3 winters, a church building purchased in Cross Village was completely dismantled and hauled on sleighs to it's present location on the corner of State & Stutsmanville Road. When we outgrew that building, in 1979 our current building began construction with all-volunteer crews. A dedication was held on August 30, 1981. In the mid 1980's an addition was made to the new church building to house classrooms (initially used as a Christian School), office space and a gathering hall, soon followed by an addition to join the buildings together and add a commercial kitchen so we could more easily host Community Events & funeral dinners. The little white chapel is now called the The Great Escape and for several years was the youth building. Now, in addition to our regular Sunday services, weekly Small Groups, kids' events, funeral dinners & other fellowship activities, our entire building & the Great Escape is used every year as part of our Journey to Bethlehem presentation that we do as a gift to our community. God has been so gracious to the body at Stutsmanville Chapel. We believe He still has plans for us, and the stories of how He has worked so faithfully in our past give us courage and hope as we seek His will for our future.
